Library Board Opening

Serving on a volunteer board is a great way to get involved and make a difference in your local government and community.  Currently, the city is seeking residents to fill a vacancy on the Library Board.

POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of the Library Board is to approve expenditures of money collected for and contained within the library fund, as it relates to operations of the library buildings and grounds.  The Library Board is responsible for hiring and evaluating the Library Director, approving library policies, and approving the annual budget.  The Library Board sets strategic directions for the future of the Library.  In addition to monthly meetings, members must be willing to commit additional time, as necessary, to fulfill committee assignments. The Library Board usually meets on the third Tuesday of the month at 6:00 pm. Members must be residents of the City of Bayport.  

Residents interested in being considered for appointment to the current vacancy on the Library Board should submit an application form to Bayport City Hall, 294 North 3rd Street, Bayport, MN 55003 or to Bayport Public Library, 582 North 4th Street, Bayport, MN 55003.  Please submit applications by Friday, June 5.
